Delighted to welcome Fr Mel Smith (Fr Chris' dad!) to Holy Cross and Palermo. Fr Mel joins us for the remaining Sundays in October 2025.

Fr. Mel Smith was ordained in 1971 and has spent over five decades serving in parishes across the English Midlands. His final appointment before retirement was as Anglican Chaplain in North Mallorca. Since retiring, he has continued to minister as a Locum Priest in chaplaincies in Portugal, Spain, and France, while remaining an active member of the parish in Kingswinford, West Midlands.​ Beyond his ministry, Fr. Mel enjoys crown green bowls, detective novels, and gardening. He now lives alone, his wife sadly having died eighteen months ago.
